I recently visited the Legend Golf and Safari Resort in Limpopo. A place where you can experience the African bush in outright luxury. Game drives in this Big-5 safari resort offered me an opportunity to get pretty close to wild animals I would seldom get to see. Playing golf on a golf course recently named one of the top-9 golf courses in the world, is a dream come true for any avid golfer. Even more so because of the extreme 19th hole where the tee box can only be reached by helicopter. The accommodation is luxurious and the meals delectable. Regular weekend trips like these definitely form part of my dream life.

Are you living your dream life? Do you know what your dream life looks like? Can you describe it in detail? Do you have a vision board? Do you set goals for yourself to achieve your dream life? Do you have a plan to get there? What actions are you taking to get you to a place where you can live your dream life? These questions can be tough to answer. Often we realize we have a dream, but we don’t do anything to make our dream a reality.

Listening to the story of Peet and Mart Cilliers, founders of Legend Hospitality Group is truly inspiring. Again, I realized, dreams can be turned into reality. Peet grew up in an orphanage, together they had a dream and together they took action to make their dream come true. Today, Peet is living his dream together with his wife and daughters who are all part of the Legend Hospitality Group. The family owns multiple lodges across South Africa, all within 19 years since Peet and Mart Cilliers acted on building their dream.

Lack of money can be perceived as an obstacle preventing you from realizing your dreams. Having sufficient money plays a vital role in creating your dream life, be it building an empire or living a comfortable life. Even if you want to be healthy and happy, or have enough time to spend with your loved ones, sufficient money forms integral part of creating that healthy and happy life. Financial freedom gives you more time to do what you want, when you want to with whom you want to.

It is important to work on your financial wellness just as you would work on your fitness or career goals. Create additional income streams. Carefully manage your expenses. Buy more income generating assets. Repay your debt as quickly as possible. If you cannot fund your dream yourself, look for investors or funding opportunities.

Define what your dream life looks like if you don’t yet live it. Have a plan to create financial fitness and wealth for yourself in order to live your dream life.
